Real Housewives of Atlanta Attend the Opening of Peter Thomas’ New Lounge

RealityTea.com:
The Real Housewives of Atlanta stepped out this week to support Cynthia Bailey and her husband Peter Thomas, who alongside Robert “RL” Thomas of the R&B group Next, held a party in celebration of the opening of their new lounge BarOne in Atlanta.

If you recall, Peter, who was found not guilty this week of assaulting a former female employee, shut down his previous lounge/restaurant Uptown last year when it stopped doing well. No word yet on whether or not Cynthia also invested in this latest venture of Peter’s. And speaking of Cynthia, she recently opened up her own modeling agency called The Bailey Agency.

Metromix.com snapped photos at the event which was hosted by the one and only Nene Leakes.

Marlo Hampton, New Member of "Real Housewives of Atlanta"?

Straightfromthea.com:
Mark my words and remember where you heard this first!!

Word on the curb is that there’s a new Real Housewives of Atlanta “housewife” in town. Meet Marlo (or Marlow) Hampton, the fiance’ of NFL baller Charles Grant…

As taping continues for RHOA season 4, Marlo and Charles were spotted at IIDA Georgia Chapter’s ‘Dressed in the Garden of Eden’ event at Piedmont park a few weeks ago with cameras in tow.

Here’s the scoop…

During that event Marlo and Charles sat comfortably between Sheree’s gay hubby, “Miss Lawrence” Washington and Phaedra Parks.

While most at the park could be heard whispering… ‘who the hell is Marlo,’ the newest “housewife” kept mum while rocking Gucci from head to toe.

I don’t know too much about Miss Marlo, I don’t even think she’s originally from Atlanta, but my intel told me in *Kanye’s voice* that she “don’t mess with no broke n*ccas” and that she was once a “stylist”… (NeNe even wore some of her clothes last season). MESSY!!!

Things are about to get even more MESSY in that Marlo was apparently placed on the show as an obvious thorn in NeNe’s side.

Although she adamantly denies it, NeNe and Charles are rumored to have had lil fling a while back.

If you recall, Kim Zolciak put NeNe’s adulterous relationship on blast on Bravo’s Aftershow and the relationship even resulted in a few pregnancy rumors.

All Six ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ Set To Be Back For Season Four

Ajc.com:
Not surprisingly, “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” will be back for a fourth season. And Bravo is keeping the same six women: NeNe Leakes, Sheree Whitfield, Kim Zolciak, Phaedra Parks, Kandi Burruss and Cynthia Bailey.

This is the first season where they have chosen to make no change.

And despite rumors of Kim or NeNe leaving for spinoffs, Andy Cohen is sticking with what’s worked already. “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” is the most popular “Housewives” franchise, averaging nearly 3 million viewers per episode last season, up from 2.7 million season two.

(Word is that “Real Housewives of D.C.” is already gone after one season. It’s unclear if “Miami” will merit a second season.)

Production for Atlanta is supposed to begin this month. Given how cold the relationship has become between Kim and NeNe, will they have any desire to reconcile again.
To me the only surprise here would be Sheree coming back because honestly she's gotten kind of boring. Granted, Sheree let us into her life a little more last season, but the acting stuff was kind of lame and I can't be the only person wondering what the hell happened to 'She By Sheree' and how serious that was (esp. after all the air time spent on it)? Plus I'd like to see more of Sheree's interaction with her younger kids, more of her backstory, more on her relationship with her ex-husband, etc. It just seems to me that after 3 seasons we still hardly know the real Sheree.

Bravo Renews Bethenny Ever After, Real Housewives of Atlanta and Real Housewives of Beverly Hills

EOnline.com:
Bravo shows are like Bedazzled cotton candy: No substance, so so so much style and totally addictive. (And yes, OK, fine, the Top Chef franchise has some substance.)

The network just threw its advertisers a party and gave us fans a gift bag of treats. In addition to a slew of new series annoucements, the network has ordered new seasons of Bethenny Ever After (yay!), Tabatha's Salon Takeover, Top Chef Just Desserts (yay!), The Real Housewives of Atlanta and The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (quintuple yay!).

"Real Housewives of Atlanta" Is Bravo's Hightest Rated 'Housewives' Show

GossipOnThis.com:
Bravo now has seven different versions of the popular “Real Housewives of…” reality series, including versions in Orange County, New York City, Atlanta, New Jersey, Washington D.C., Beverly Hills, and the latest, Miami. And out of all of the “Housewives” shows, according to recent stats and figures, the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” is doing the best as far as ratings are concerned.

Last Sunday’s episode gave the show its best numbers ever, at 3.43 million viewers. Apparently these recent numbers for Season 3 of the show are much better than last season, which saw about 2.9 million viewers per week. This has a lot to do with the show moving from Monday nights to Sunday nights this season.

As of right now, the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” remains the top franchise among the six “Housewives” that have aired so far (“RHO Miami” begins airing this March). RHOA airs its season finale tonight at 10 pm, followed by two weeks of “reunion” footage shot at the Georgia Aquarium.

Sounds like everybody really likes Nene, Sheree, Kim, Kandi, Cynthia and the rest of the Atlanta Housewife gang! Either that, or they like he drama they all bring. SMH…

"Real Housewives of Atlanta" Cover UPTOWN Magazine

WetPaint.com:
Our favorite Georgia Peaches will grace the cover of the December 2010/January 2011 issue of UPTOWN Magazine. Phaedra and Sheree are conspicuously missing from the cover, but we're sure Phae-Phae was busy with the baby, and Sheree was busy with... yeah, we got nothing.

The magazine hits newsstands December 14 and features an inside look at why the H'wives of ATL are the most popular of the franchise.

“Plain old voyeurism seems to be the common thread that allows Real Housewives to cast a wide net when it comes to viewers,” says Keija Minor, Editor-in-Chief. "People seem to be fascinated with bearing witness to the good, the bad, and — especially — the very ugly.”

You know NeNe's favorite subject is talking about how relatable she is. We're sure the Housewives have some key insights as to why they're the Bravo ratings queens.

'Real Housewives of Atlanta' Spin-offs

BuddyTV.com:
This week on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, NeNe made her first play for television exposure outside RHOA. Now, with the announcement of Kim's pregnancy, Kim and her boyfriend Kroy are looking into a spin-off of their own. Would Bravo even dare to call it Kim Getting Married?? Or would Bravo even get it at all? Is an Atlanta Housewife and an Atlanta Falcon TOO MUCH STAR POWER?

It appears that Kim and Kroy are shopping around their wedding/baby like it's the next Lost. But I thought Kim didn't want to get married while she was pregnant? Is this even about anything other than the opportunity for another TV show? [Radar Online]

Now that we know some of the Housewives are going ghost hunting, it makes me wonder what else they can do! Well in case the Real Housewives of Atlanta dissolve in the off-season and Kim's spin-off takes root, we've come up with some spin-offs for each of the Atlanta Housewives.

Cynthia Bailey Gives A Lesson On Dealing With Your Ex

I'm not going to lie: the scene with Cynthia and Leon was one of the best I've ever seen on "Housewives". Ex's bickering over their kids could take a lesson or two from Cynthia and Leon:
How do you broach the topic of remarriage with an ex? Bravo's "Real Housewives of Atlanta" offers one approach--and it's (shockingly) drama-free.

On a recent episode of the hit show, Real Housewife Cynthia Bailey confides in her ex-fiance (and father of daughter Noelle), actor Leon Robinson, about marrying her then-boyfriend, restaurateur Peter Thomas.

When she tells Robinson that she's considering marriage with her new beau, Robinson asks, "Have you told him that you can't wait to marry him?"

Responds Bailey: "Well I think I have. I told him he's gonna be 50 this year and I don't wanna just play house...that's not very romantic, huh?" (Bailey and Thomas have have since wed).

In a later voice-over, Bailey says, "Me and Leon have this great relationship. We've created this amazing love child together. We were never married, but we were engaged...I know it's kind of weird getting marital advice from someone that I was actually supposed to marry, but he knows me better than anyone."

What Entrepreneurs Can Learn from "The Real Housewives of Atlanta"

Forbes.com:

My obsession with Bravo’s The Real Housewivesbegan a few years ago with the women from Orange County. Since then, I’ve developed a love-hate relationship with the girls of Hotlanta. At times, I can totally relate to what’s going on in their lives, but there are moments when I could do without the ratings-driven drama and stereotypes of black women.

As with anything I watch on TV, there has to be some educational element built into the show or it’s not worth my time tuning in. The lessons aren’t always obvious so it’s important to pay close attention and catch the reruns if necessary. Here are a few takeaways from the season thus far.

GOALS

During season two, Kim Zolciak debuted her iTunes single, “Tardy for the Party,” which was produced by fellow Housewife, Kandi Buress. Fast forward to season three and Kim still doesn’t have a clue as to where she wants her newfound singing career to go.

When Buress asked what she wanted next, Zolciak replied, “I don’t know.” It’s been reported that the single has made close to six figures and Kim has had a number of appearances and performances. The last thing she should want is to have all of the hype die down without leveraging it for more exposure, money, and longevity. We all know the shelf life of a reality star’s celebrity status is short lived.

Reality Check: Have a plan before you start. It doesn’t have to be detailed, but do map out next steps. If the only reason you’re getting in the game is to become the next one-hit-wonder, you’re better off watching from the sidelines.

CONTRACTS
When Grammy award-winning singer/songwriter Kandi Buress produced Kim’s single, she did so without having a binding legal contract. Surprising since Kandi’s professional music industry experience dates back to 1992.

I’m sure Kandi did this only because the two are friends, and as a result, she forfeited any rights to profit off the project. Buress stated if she works with Zolciak in the future, she’s treating it like business as usual and getting paid accordingly. I can’t fathom Buress herself not officially signing on the dotted line last year with Capitol Records, although that deal has since dissolved.

Reality Check: Business attorneys aren’t exclusively reserved for tycoons, pro athletes, and major corporations. Sooner or later you’ll need legal advice. Interview a few and have one on stand-by for when the need arises.
It's funny what you can learn from just listening to the rich and famous instead of ridiculing them.

"Real Housewives of Atlanta" Ep. 4: The High Price of Beauty

Clatl.com:
Quick—someone, Kim—intervene! Before we know it, Nene could pull a Heidi Montag. You know, the pressures of fame and constantly being perfect can have a toll on the ladies of Bravo, and Nene was feeling the stress this week on the "Real Housewives of Atlanta." I heard that Bentley Cadence, Maci's son on "Teen Mom", was going under the knife soon. It's really too bad, the guy never even had a chance.

Nene's been going through some problems at (her rented) home. Nene's marriage to pastel-sweater-loving Gregg is on the rocks and her son Bryce is a useless delinquent. Nene tries to set a good example for Bryce by being such a productive member of society thorough her educational television program, but he just still doesn't get it. Then, on top of that, former BFF Duh-white has replaced Nene with Phaedra, who is so damn classy I can't even take it. What's a Nene to do? Get a breast reduction, liposuction and nose job, that's what. Sure, Nene's nose was big, but so was her head, body, breasts and persona. She's a big lady! So while this new nose is nothing unusual for someone as internationally famous as Nene, it just looks wrong on her body. Plus, she said she only had her nostrils taken in. Lie! Why is a nostril procedure any better than fessing up to a nose job? I'll never understand the levels of plastic surgery acceptance in their world. Botox, excellent. Nostril relocation, fantastic. Boob job, keep 'em coming. But a nose job? Heavens no!

Respected local artiste Dr. Whiteman put Nene out, and girlfriend was OUT. Her incoherent ramblings were some of them best one-liners of the night. Calling Kim from the hospital bed: "Kim, I'm right around the block." Calling Sheree: "I got a surprise for you. I get to wear one of your bras." In fact, the whole episode was very slap-stick comedy, in the vein of greats Charlie Chaplin and the Three Stooges. Maybe Atlanta housewives are the comic relief to the drama of the other cities. But, noticeably absent at the big surgery was Nene's husband Gregg. Bad move, G. She wasn't going to let Gregg ruin her new nose, though. The day of her surgery, still completely anesthesia-drunk, she was ready to party: "I’m ready to drink. The bitch is back!"

'Real Housewives of Atlanta' Moving to Sundays

Marquee.com:

Move over, Don Draper. Nene, Kim and She by Sheree are taking over Sunday night TV.

The “Real Housewives of Atlanta” will switch to Sunday nights at 10 p.m. beginning November 7. Bravo’s twice-weekly late night talk show “Watch What Happens: Live” hosted by Bravo executive Andy Cohen will also move to Sundays, with new episodes airing immediately following “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.”

The schedule switch was announced by the president of Bravo Media, Frances Berwick.

“With Bravo’s rapid ratings growth and continued momentum in original programming and new engagement initiatives, we’re expanding to Sunday nights where we can kick off the week earlier and each night becomes a promotional platform for the next night becoming a domino effect that strengthens our schedule,” Berwick said in a statement. “We think the buzz-worthy sensation surrounding ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta,’ with its ravenous fanbase, is the ideal launch for this new night of original programming.”

'Real Housewives of Atlanta' Introduces New Cast Members In Sneak Peek

I'm really not looking forward to RHOA this season. Nene's always-screaming-at-somebody, ghetto ass rakes my nerves and Kim's 'I know I got kids, but I don't give a f-ck' attitude just reminds me too much of Danielle. I'm keeping an open mind with the new cast members, but I know that'll miss Lisa (who was easily the most sane one and always kept it real) while Sheree and Kandi are just blah without an interesting storyline.

"Real Housewives Of Atlanta" Preview

This season looks like it's going to be really good, but I've had enough of Kim Zolciak's slutty ass--no matter if she's sleeping with married men or with women, that ho just has no standards.

Meet The New Women Joining 'The Real Housewives of Atlanta'

People.com:
They’re back!

Despite reports that Kim Zolciak and NeNe Leakes were going to be fired from The Real Housewives of Atlanta, the two frenemies will return for a third season of Bravo’s hit show. And while Lisa Wu Hartwell is out, there are two new Housewives joining the cast.

Cynthia Bailey and Phaedra Parks will make their debut when the series returns Oct. 4, Bravo announced Thursday, with plenty of drama to come. Get acquainted with Atlanta‘s new stars and then watch a preview of the upcoming season below.

Alabama-born Bailey, a model who worked the runways of Paris and Milan, risks losing her boyfriend of three years, Peter Thomas, after he issues her an ultimatum. She leans on NeNe, a close friend, as both struggle through relationship issues this season. Bailey’s career credits also include staring in a movie opposite Sandra Bernhardt and having a guest spot on The Cosby Show. She’s also mom to 10-year-old daughter Noelle.

Parks isn’t exactly greeted with open arms when she arrives on the Real Housewives scene. The entertainment attorney’s marriage to a younger husband, Apollo, sparks gossip because of his prison stint for a “white collar crime.” A self-proclaimed “Southerne Belle,” Parks is involved with multiple charities when she’s not running her Atlanta-based boutique law firm. This Housewife is also expecting her first child with Apollo.

As for the other ladies, they’re all continuing to pursue their various careers. NeNe scores a gig as an entertainment reporter for a local news station, Kim is focusing on music and so is Kandi, who’s struggling after the loss of her fiancĂ©. Meanwhile, Sheree has a found a new passion — for acting.
I'll give the new season of RHOA a chance, but I can't say that I'm too excited as I was a huge fan of Lisa Wu and have long grown of Nene's over-the-top theatrics and just general all-around rudeness.

Real Housewives of Atlanta Shoot in Charlotte

The Real Housewives of Atlanta are in the Queen City shooting for their show and we grilled them on relationships, how they really get along and what to expect in the upcoming season.

Their tour bus was hard to miss, pretty much the only car parked in front of the popular Plaza Midwood bar The Thirsty Beaver at two on Wednesday afternoon.

Kim Zolciak and Kandy Burruss are two of the Atlanta housewives on the popular Bravo reality show.

Tonight they are hanging out in Charlotte with the show's production crew along for the ride.

We asked about filming.

“It's been fun, I’m tired,” Kim told us.

But as far as season spoilers, the ladies basically kept their lips locked.

“[There’s] a lot of funny stuff,” Kim said. “We have a lot of great funny moments.”
I like Kim Zolciak admitting that she doesn't "really care" about the 'Housewives' on other shows. I don't particularly go far Bravo's lame attempts to get 'Housewives' from different shows/cities to mix it up (much less seeing Nene Leakes hangout with Danielle Staub is just awkward on its own), it's weird to see people who really don't know jack about each other almost forced to be friendly. If 'Housewives' from different shows are meant to be friends just let it happen naturally.

Confirmed: Phaedra Parks, Cynthia Bailey New Castmates On ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’

April Love, a local PR rep for Lisa Wu Hartwell, confirmed to me that both attorney Phaedra Parks and model Cynthia Bailey (left) are now new castmates on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” which began shooting its third season this month.

Mediatakeout broke the news about Bailey earlier today.

I reported the rumor about Bailey being in the running in February.

Love doesn’t know about how Bravo will deal with seven housewives and how they are going to pare the cast down to something more manageable during the season.

If anything, it’s smart for Bravo to shake things up and shift the dynamics, which were starting to get a wee bit tiresome toward the end of season two.

The four original housewives (Kandi Burruss came on year two) have three-season contracts. It’ll be interesting who will stick around for a fourth season – if there is one.
This comes after the news that "Real Housewives of New York" would be adding two new members this season as well. Bad idea in my opinion. Bravo risks overindulgency with all these cast members and then too who wants to follow 7 different women in an hour-long episode? The only show that needs a new member is "New Jersey", just to spice it up a bit as the 4 vs. 1 (Danielle vs. the world) drama just seems like it'll get played out soon enough. 6 should be the limit on each show as it gives each women a fair amount of time.
