Gallardo

The Milwaukee Brewers are my baseball team.  And last night Yovani Gallardo pitched a two hit complete game shut out.  And on top of it all he scored the only run for the Brewers.  He was a one man wrecking [brew] crew.  This is significant because Gallardo is the team's ace, he has always been that way.  National media is taking the Brewers seriously for once, and its in large part to the addition of P Zack Grienke and P Shawn Marcum from the Royals and Blue Jays.

The Brewers Achilles heel has been pitching.  The addition of these two aforementioned players makes the Brewers a contender.  I'm not debating about that.  But Gallardo has been the team's ace for two seasons now, and he continues to be that.

No Brave last evening reached second base.  And he pitched 111 pitches and faced only one batter over the minimum.  He was sizzling last night.  But this is not something new.  Last season Gallardo ended with a state line of: 14-7 with an ERA of 3.84 and 200 SO.

This is nothing new from Gallardo.  Now that the team is in the national media a little more I think he is getting some serious consideration.  Yesterday's performance was not only necessary for a struggling team, but it showed off how good he really could be.  The Brewers are now 1-4, and in need of a spark. Gallardo may have provided that yesterday in his brilliant performance.
